What is most important to you?
Family? Friends? Loved ones? Your own child?
What if God called you to leave all that…
…and then told you that when you did you would receive 100 times as many family, friends, loved ones.
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields – along with persecutions – and in the age to come eternal life.” Mark 10:29-30 (NIV)
I’ve experienced this in my own life. Having left home and family I’ve gotten to know many many brothers and sisters in these short 6 years of walking with Christ. Along with many who have walked with me as fathers and mothers. I’ve also lived in many many homes, to the point that home is no longer a place but a person. That person is Christ and He looks really great in community. His unique facets are in each of His unique images that live and do life with me.
He is so great to give me a community that loves me so well here. Just last week each and every person in CGA gave me a hand written note of encouragement; 29 treasures encouraging me! That’s all for now. Just know that if He is calling you to leave something you hold dear, I would encourage you to let it go and hold onto Him instead. He did, after all, let His Son go on a dangerous rescue mission for you and me. Oh, and persecutions are a real thing that ought to be counted as joy. James 1:2
